We use high precision scanners to capture millions of data points creating a high resolution, high accuracy scan of your parts. 3D point clouds can be converted to editable Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline (NURBS) surfaces and exported to .STEP files for import into your CAD software of choice. These files create a digital twin for virtual test fit of components in an assembly.
In conjunction with our 3D printing and laser cutting services, physical mock-ups can also be made to verify geometry prior to production. Both methods, when used in the design process, can save the customer time and money. This scanning service has been used by one of our customers to inspect the post burn grain structure of their hybrid rocket motors.

Aero Design uses are a Romer Arm 7725 and a Brown & Sharpe Xcel 765 CMM in conjunction with modern PCDMIS CAD++ Software to ensure accuracy and precision in all parts produced.
